Puber  - Pret

Hogeschool Rotterdam - Design Challenge 7

Puber-Pret is an engaging quartet game for children ages 8 to 13.

The game encourages players to form quartets based on topics that are commonly encountered during the teenage years. By familiarizing themselves with these subjects in a fun and interactive manner, the hope is to normalize these discussions and prevent potential future taboos.

It's natural for children to grow and explore their identities. Open communication about these topics is essential for mutual learning and understanding.

The game covers a range of subjects including menstruation, wet dreams, physical changes, emotions, and more. Players will encounter three types of color-coded cards: pink for girls, blue for boys, and a combination for topics relevant to both genders.

Why

Subjects such as: feelings, setting boundaries,
menstruation, wet dreams, changes in the body, you name it, are currently not openly discussed.

As a result, experiences may be perceived as 'normal' when they are not.

By talking openly about it, future generations will come
where the topic is no longer taboo.

Who

This starts in elementary school.

Children are still curious and feel safe in the classroom, open to discussing new things.

This prepares them
for what is to come.

How

Children in elementary school learn in a playful manner. At the moment, these topics are addressed during the "Spring Fever" week.

They are shown an interactive presentation, followed by a whole-class discussion of the topic, possibly with a workbook alongside.

Through the game, they remain actively engaged
with the topic in a light-hearted and playful way.
